From the heart.

look at us we looked so young ~
Anyway, I can’t believe after an entire year’s worth of waiting, the day’s finally (almost) here. Going back was always a certainty from the moment we touched back down to home soil back in 2008. Who knew it would materialise this soon. I’m so proud of FAB’s progress and am extremely grateful to have had them be part of my OSL experience. These are lifelong friends I have. From selling muffins in the rgs canteen and washing teachers’ cars in the afternoons to raise funds and buy bikes for the Cambodian kids, we have expanded to providing a hopefully more effective English learning experience, carrying over what we have learnt over the 2 weeks we were there 2 years ago and preparing to deliver lessons that we hope the students in Cambodia would really benefit from.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if we come back feeling as though we’ve gained more from them than we’ve provided for them. I guess that’s the greatest takeaway I took back with me. When you’re sincere about offering your services to someone out of sheer generosity, torque will occur and God will ensure that your sincerity is rewarded. Nothing to feel bad about.
This trip is going to be different. Going with the 2010 team, not even as mentors, perhaps as observers, would definitely mean we no longer have a strict set of guidelines to follow. But it also means, a whole lot of things would need to be done by us, independently, which I feel is a much more challenging experience.
Hope everything turns out well. Love group three a lot. Even if it’s just the 5 of us, I’m sure we have the love and support from other FABBERS and the rest of OSL 08.
Will be back on the 5th. Uncontactable via email nor phone. I would probably read your texts if you were to send any during the weekends but haha don’t expect any replies from me xD
xoxo
